Stephane Grappelli Live Spring 1976 Reel-to-Reel Fragment SBD (Oven-baked, tasty and cooked just right for you!)

This 20 minute jaw-dropping performance was taped live as it happened and off the air sometime in April or May of 1976 on a then brand-new first-generation Sony Trinitron 13" TV. The Trinitron was notable for not only being a stereo TV, but for also being equipped with a headphone jack. Unfortunately, the Ampex 456 mastering tape being used has not stood the test of time. It needed to be baked in order for it to be playable. If the subject of tape baking interests you, this is not the first time I have done it, or that "Mrs. Doinker" has allowed it.

For an extended treatise on the subject of baking tape to restore it, refer to this torrent (currently still active):

Please note that every effort has been made to compare performances from this show to already-released material. I have failed to come up with a match, however if you know where this may be purchased, please let me know.

I have done the best I could with the setlist:

Tea For Two (cut)
You Took Advantage Of Me
Nuages
?
?

If you know this style of music, certainly you will instantly recognise the last two tracks. Whether or not you can name them is another matter; they are heavily improvised. Please provide any corrections.

Sadly, I have no records of which stellar cast was playing as backup, where this was recorded, or how long the original broadcast was.

Lineage: Ampex 456 mastering reel ->Oven baking 12 hrs -> Sound Forge 6.0 ->Mono to Stereo conversion ->60hz and 129hz hum removal ->CD Architect ->cdr ->Nero 6.6 ->FLAC

Enjoy!
