I was so busy chatting with my friend Maureen that I didn't notice Steve entered the stage.
I already had the recording running, but the mics were still under my shirt. I quickly moved them,
which can be briefly heared at the start of the show.

* During Copperhead I accidently paused the recorder, which I discovered when that song ended.
Fortunately 49tons recorded the show as well. I have used his capture of Copperhead Road, so the show is complete.

I'll also master and share his recording, but that will have to wait till I have returned
from Engeland, where I'll catch and record a few Alejandro Escovedo shows.

After I saw Steve the last time during the Townes tour I was prepared to give up on him musically.
It was a boring show with Steve in a faul mood. I'm glad I didn't because this show was fantastic.
It was the first show after crossing the Atlantic and baby John Henry had kept Steve and Allison awake
for the greater part of the night. Still they put on an energetic show, although Allison looked tired
towards the end of the show. Steve looked like he could go on forever.

Steve reminisened how his first European tour,25 years ago, also started in Amsterdam and how he lost his passport in the Red Light district.
Now that he has matured he can safely start a tour in Amsterdam.
He also reminisened that it was at the Paradiso that he sang Dead Flowers for the very first time.
That was the reason he sang the song, something he never does. It was met with enthusiasm by the audience.
And of course the Paradiso was one of his favourite venues (like many artists say).

Covers and a scan of a signed ticket (courtesy Maureen) are included in the files.
