My jaw dropped when I found this torrent, back in late 2007: Steve, then a sixty-year-old musician, had decided to adventure himself into completely different music.

Steve had defined his jazz trio, that year, as music breathing its first breaths. Listen to "Mood for a day", for example: it's the first time his solo piece from Fragile is played on electric guitar, and the song has everything changed, including the time signature. Steve completes: "it's surprising what you can do to a tune: bend it, twist it, shake it."

On Disc 2, tracks 1-5, Steve plays solo acoustic guitar.

This recording was made very close to centre stage, in a converted railway station. The quality is what you would expect from stealth minidisc.

I have not tampered with the recording, other than to increase the volume of the spoken parts, and the slighly quieter acoustic section. A little mic rumble was also attenuated during some of the applause.
