Pete Wernick - banjo on "The Crow"

This was an amazing performance, outdoors, under the stars, with some delicious Kentucky barbecue mutton.

All of the songs with the exception of the two pieces by the "Steep Canyon Rangers" and the encore were written by Steve Martin. One talented guy.

The recording was much MUCH better than I ever imagined I would get from the small hand-held Tascam DR-1. The only blemishes on this recording were the a-hole to my left who thought talking on his cell phone was a swell idea while the concert was going on - I wanted to give him a piece of my mind but didn't want to spoil the recording, and the sporadic hand-clapper to my immediate right, who breaks in occasionally with sporadic hand claps. Can't complain about the clapping, really, as she was just enjoying herself, but the cell phone talker, needed to learn some manners. Thankfully, the music USUALLY covers him up.

Pay special attention to the encore number - the only piece not written by Martin - "Orange Blossom Special" - Nicky Sanders, the fiddle player, has a field day quoting various classical pieces, including Beethovens "Ode to Joy" and Khachaturians "Sabre Dance"

I have deliberately separated all of the dialogue and comedy tracks from the music tracks, so you can create a single CD with the music only, however, I highly recommend downloading everything, as Steve Martins patter is nearly as entertaining as his banjo playing.

I also recorded the "Punch Brothers" and the "Carolina Chocolate Drops" - coming up soon.

This is my first torrent here, so if I get anything wrong, my apologies - will try to fix it.
