This is a show I shared some ten years ago shortly after joining dime, it's a solid capture that was frustratingly marred by audience noies, insistent whistlers, talkers and general woo-hoos and yells.
Modern technology not commercially available ten years ago, at least not cost effectively, is now available to extract these annoying little tidbits without damaging the music.

The earlier version I mastered and shared runs slow, being a novice at the time I didn't have any tools at my disposal or the knowledge to correct the pitch. This new version now runs at the correct speed and makes a ton of difference in the overall listening enjoyment.
I have additionally extracted or greatly diminished as many whistles and audience interference as possible, this was accomplished without any editing or cutting out the audience or music. The listener is no longer distracted with a girl close to the mic talking about the girl that just threw up at the end of the row or an audience member stating what he hasn't played yet, not to mention the multiple instances of sharp whistling and general mayhem. Of course some chatter is too intertwined with the music to totally extract but it is head and shoulders above the previous version.

I've never been a much of a Steve Miller fan, like many people with any musical consciences in the mid to late 1970's I did own "Fly Like An Eagle". The reason for the revisit and extreme detailing cleaning of this particular show is because at the tender age of 15 I attended this mini festival billed as "Cotton Bowl II". The lineup consisted of Bob Welch, Little River Band, Steve Miller Band and Fleetwood Mac plus, if I remember correctly, a long forgotten local band or two.

The set is either incomplete or shortened due to the festival nature of the show, during the opening improv that I've seen variously titled "Goin' To Dallas" or "Home Sweet Home" he mentions a number of songs he will play, three of which do not appear in the set. Besides turning the recorder off before the encores the set appears seamlessly captured and it's way too many years ago for me to remember all that was played. The Fleetwood Mac set of this night is incomplete so your guess is as good as mine.

Please note, the LP bootleg this comes from as well as my original share are mis-dated as July 21st, the actual date is July 23rd.

You can see raw news footage of the crowd and Steve Miller on stage playing "The Joker" here:

Thanks go out to BK of JEMS for the guidance and tools to take this one to the next level.
