03. [06:51] Living In The USA
04. [04:23] The Gangster Is Back

06. [05:21] Jackson-Kent Blues//

Total Time ::: 28:00

::: Muffled & a bit distorted but cool stereo AUD in a hotel bar! Check samples for individualized edification or cursory curiousity.
::: Warts: see above. Some dropouts weren't repairable & missed a few. Few seconds at start cut to mono.
::: NOT the same material as previously DIMED Hotel Wiechman
::: Some equalising expert could remaster this with a bit of hum removal & high end push. It would shine...
::: Labeled "TV" but seems to be a stereo audience recording, originally probably a great one.
::: Was dated "1971" but my notes say "dupe of 1972-02-07". Hopefully when my other 1972-02-07 surfaces it sounds better and/or is longer.
::: Stevie says he has just arrived that afternoon.
::: Does anyone have Steve Miller 1971-72 tour lists? The excellent Chrome Oxide lists (http://www.chromeoxide.com) stop in 1970.
::: "Dickie's Jam" - A little nod to Santana!

Recording Information ::: unknown equipment -> master stereo audience tape -> 1st generation tape -> 2nd gen cassette -> DAT (* clone of analog M2, call it what you want). Early 70s non-azimuth adjusted normal bias tapes from the early 70s with my DAT transfer roughly 20 years later. DAT has incredibly low levels.

Playback 2010 ::: DAT on pro Tascam portable DAT machine -> Tascam CD-RW900SL pro CD recorder -> CD-R -> computer (2011), EAC secure -> wavs -> Audacity (normalisation, fades &/or glitches, dropouts, volume adjustments, no EQ) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2012-07-01.

Line-up (unconfirmed!) ::: Steve Miller - guitar, vocals // Dickie Thompson - keyboards // Gerald Johnson bass, vocals // John King - drums.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 163 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: This is another evening where Stevie is cookin' from the start, in a jamming mood & in GREAT form. Check out "Vicky's Jam", a nod to Santana as Steve says in the intro, it's rippin'. Long jammed out versions of songs with superb playing from all members of the band.
