Very good audience recording. After a series of recording using the Zooms Hn4 built In
mics I went back to the Sound Professional Core Mics. The internal mics seem to not pick
up as much crowd noise but the recordings never seems quite bright enough to my ears.
At first I thought I made a mistake because there were some very loud people around me.
and I was pretty sure they were going to overpower the recording. And certainly there are times
where they are pretty loud on this recording. But listening to it again it seems to me
that on the recording they were not as noticable and annoying as it was in person. I
know that being in the SRO section you are ususally going to get more crowd noise. Since I have
changed back to the external mics I would like feed back from people on general sound quality
and if the audience chatter is too distracting. I have several shows upcomming that I will
be recording and I want to try to get the best sound I can.

But a little more about the show. Steve had trouble right off the bat when he walked on stage
as his monitor was not working. That is all captured in the Intro. He talked about how they are
going to be the first band on the new Austin City Limits soundstage. The set was really broken up
with the Hits, then the Blues (music from Bingo and a few others) and then finishing with a few
more hits. It really a great setlist I think. Sonny Charles did a great job on the blues songs
and looked like he was having a great time. During I just got back from Texas and The Stake Steve
brought out a 16 year old guitar player named Max Marshall to play with him. All in all a great show
from Steve Miller.
