comments:
this was the "last show of a short tour" (according to Nicks
in this concert) although I believe it was the last show of a
warmup mini-tour in early 1983 for the real one, which wasn't
very short at all, and very popular.
there is an official SN live video listed as released in 1982. That
would make it too early for this material which is from Stevie's
2nd solo tour, "the Wild Heart" (released in 1983). This show has
a few songs from the 1st 2 solo Stevie studio albums (also her
debut, "Bella Donna") and some Stevie Mac classics.
As with some of the Superstars Concert Series (and Supergroups
in Concert, A night on the Road, ect..) they don't say the date
or location of the concert. It is all from one concert. It was a
decent recording, not perfect, but not played alot either.
The version of Stand Back on Sat. Night Live was one of the highlight
performances of the 80's on that program, and this one sounded pretty
good too. too much crowd to be a club gig, but doesn't sound like
enough to be an ampitheater or hockey arena show either, as most
from May-Nov. 83 were.
there may be a better version of this to be had (since it was a
radio show) but it is probably my favorite Stevie Nicks recording.
She sounds fresh and enthusiastic, and several of the current songs
were nice ones. Only a few seconds are missing at the start of track 9,
probably an edited broadcast as WW1 recorded shows almost always were,
the rest of this broadcast is included in here.
do not sell this recording.
