This show was recorded at Desperado's in Washington D.C.;
but the exact date is unknown.Tommy Shannon did not join
until January, 1981 and he is on this tape.
Probable dates include:
08/31/81, 09/01/81 These recordings are absolutely uncirculated
outside of the SRV camp. This was received as "2nd show,"
and it may be, but it is the first set only as Stevie asks the
crowd if they enjoyed the first set and says he will be
right back. Stevie mentions that he is glad to be back in D.C.,
so there is no question about the city.

This is one of two shows that, through the generosity
of Jim Zintz, I will be posting here on DIME. The other is of
slightly better audio quality. Both are audience recordings
and both are well worth having. The history of the recordings
is unknown, although information from the source I received
them from leads me to suspect that they were taped by the
opening act, or by a member of Stevie's crew. It was not
uncommon for tapes to be made by mics at the soundboard,
but not off the sbd, in that era.
Possibly 8/31/81 2nd set.
