New transfer for this torrent
Sound quality: VG, one gen too far down the line but very listenable. The crowd is enthusiastic and rowdy, but no close talkers.
Sound samples provided. The master of this show would be quite a good tape, so if you have it, please upload it!
This show is just a couple of days before the Athens show I recently uploaded. The day after this show, Stevie played a private party at this same venue. If you have that, please upload it.
This show is notable for a couple of reasons. Stevie plays “Commit a Crime” and he hasn’t really worked out the arrangement we know and love with the “Smokestack Lightnin’ intro/outro. Instead, we get a 12+ minute workout with Stevie trying out some ideas (quotes a run he uses in Little Wing, gets intro some Hendrixian wah groove, gets bluesy). It is cool. Later, he stops about 4 minutes into “Little Wing” and tells a couple of assholes in the audience to leave if they don’t like it and that he is playing from his heart, so “fuck you!” How anyone could not like this performance is beyond me.
