Part of the "The Power and the Passion" tour with Joe Cocker. They alternated headlining; Stevie Ray opened this show.

This circulates a July 2, but July 1 is the correct date (SRV played in Ontario, Canada on July 2).

This is a show from Stevie's last tour. This show is NOT part of my series of essential SRV shows, but it is a decent show that any serious SRV fan will enjoy. There is a cut in Riviera Paradise, which was performed in the middle of the set during this tour, so many, if not most, tapes from the tour have cuts from tape flips. I don't see this show circulating as often as it should, so here it is! Stevie having a blast on his final tour.

On my tape, side B is not as loud as side a. This is probably a good thing, as the recording levels seem a bit high on side A. The only adjustment I made was to use a lower input level on side A when I transfered the tape to wav files. I did not add any EQ, noise reduction, "remastering," or anything else. This is a straight transfer. If you have the master, please torrent it!

The taper talks between some songs and during the wait for the encore. He also speaks about 1 second into the first song. No crowd chatter during songs.
