Notes:

This was my 2nd time seeing Jeff with STP, and he does a fair job filling Scott's
shoes, which, honestly, IMHO, nobody can. But, the Deleo brothers deserve to be
able to go out and play their music and he does a fine job singing those songs. My
only gripe is that they have (more or less) become a band who only seem to cater
to nostalgic summer package tours playing the hits. I was a massive fan of the
band in the 90's, and would like to hear the deep cuts, so seeing them has not
really been at the top of my list. I hear they are playing "Purple" in full later
this summer w/ Live and Soul Asylum, but of course we didn't get that setlist at
the State Fair. I hope I'm wrong and these guys continue to write and record new
music and play more diverse setlists, but there has been no evidence of that the
past few years. The sound in the Celeste Center could have been better, but I
believe this to be a fine recording of the evening. Screams and whistles removed
in RX7 when necessary.
