Storyville
Live at Lynagh's in Lexington, KY
January 18, 1997

This is a recording I made in a small bar in Lexington, Ky on a cold wintry night, during Storyville's tour to support their second album/cd, A Piece of Your Soul. A nice sized crowd showed up for this event, and they really were enthusiastic about the music. There is a noticeable din in the baxkground from the crowd throughout the concert, but it is way overpowered by the music itself and in no way interferes with the enjoyment of this recording.

Recorded on my Sony WM-D6 through a Sony ECM 909A microphone onto a Maxell XL-II-S cassette. A small venue, I think I was about 20' or so from the band.

Although I no longer smoke, this was the one time I benefited from this nasty habit. There was this douche of a girl behind me who was incessantly talking, so I lit up a big ol' black cigar and the spirits were looking out for me. The smoke drafted behind me into her face and she and her friends moved away, before the music started! I haven't recorded many concerts in my time, but it seems that there is always someone like that near me, ruining my recording and my enjoyment of the music I came to see and hear. Not this time!

I'll never be able to repay the Dime community for all the great music shared here, but maybe someone will enjoy this rarity. The only other boot by Storyville I've seen shared was the Live at Antone's show, but now this has been officially released, including a DVD of the show (amd64live.com).

Fits onto 1 cd.
