This show is particularly interesting in that Hugh announces after first song that their gear was stolen in New York earlier in the week and that they were now playing on borrowed and hired equipment.
A few technical problems occur throughout that Hugh tries to make the most of by saying "Here's a joke....our gear". I'm not sure what happened at end of Hanging Around but finish of song is quite extended and unusual. Because of the problems this show has a loose feel to it that seemed to appeal to the enthusiastic Big Easy crowd.

This is the first of two Stranglers recordings by RH in New Orleans, the other from 20 April 1981. The master tape to this earlier show is missing but fortunately I was made a copy in September in 1987 direct from master while visiting New Orleans. Since another of RH's missing masters has recently surfaced, U2 08 May 1981, I'm hoping the master to this 1980 show will surface.
