The Lostbrook Strawbs Collection Volume 10

Eighteen years separate the recording of Volumes 9 and 10 of this series. I saw the Strawbs in Washington, DC a year after I left NY but didn't bring a recorder. I did offer tapes to the soundboard engineer but was turned down. I lost track of the Strawbs after that. It's certainly possible that I missed a tour somewhere along the line. This one was not to be missed. Not only was this an acoustic show, it included Dave Lambert, who I hadn't seen since 1976. Not surprisingly, there were three songs I hadn't seen in concert since then - "Ghosts," "Out In The Cold," and "Round And Round." There were also three songs I had never seen performed live - "Tears And Pavan," "The Flower And The Young Man," and "Flying." Another highlight was Brian Willoughby's sadly-sweet "Alice's Song." The Cousins/Lambert/Willoughby lineup only lasted a few years so enjoy them while you can.
