We learned earlier in the week that the only way to secure a prime location in the tiny Golden Lounge was to arrive very early, so we got in position immediately after the conclusion of Sound of Contact's delayed set. We were so early that Annie Haslam's artwork exhibition was still in progress, but it wasn't long before we were able to grab one of the front tables along with a few other die-hard Strawbs fans. It was well worth the extra effort as we were treated to another great performance, even though the set list was identical to that of the previous day. To my ears this is clearly the superior of the two recordings due to my proximity to the stage, a few dropouts during the intro and between tracks 2 and 3 that I forgot to repair notwithstanding. (Please note that the vocal channel dropout during the second verse of New World was a soundboard issue.)
