Soundboard recording (A+ quality!)

** mp3 samples (as always) included in the Comments section

I recently got this outstanding subdudes show in a trade with fellow DIME member cjsiegel ("Crusty"). It was recorded by Crusty himself and the sound quality is absolutely superb. This show is a must-have for anyone who likes New Orleans-style music, especially the subdudes. Check out the packed setlist!

Here are Crusty's notes regarding the show/recording:
"SD @ BB Kings had one issue; the band had a hell of a time getting monitors and overall sound right. They were upset enough, I doubt they will not play at BB Kings in Orlando again. One song was ommitted due to the fact they unplugged and literally jumped into the audience. Bands soundman Drew was kind enough to allow me to record even when he wasn't happy about the soundsytem. This was recorded on my laptop!"

This is the lineage Crusty gave me:
Snbd>Laptop>CDWave>D>Total Recorder>CDR

Below are my notes:
1. I later found out from Crusty that the unplugged (a capella) song that was performed was "The Rain", which was played between "Poverty" and "No Man". Because it was an unplugged performance (and thus not recorded through the soundboard), the song is not included on Crusty's soundboard recording.

2. I re-tracked the CDRs that Crusty gave me. His Disc #1 had 7 tracks and ran 39 minutes whereas his Disc #2 had 11 tracks and ran 75 minutes. On this re-tracked version, Disc #1 now has 10 tracks and runs 58 minutes whereas Disc #2 has 8 tracks and runs 56 minutes. Thus, the discs' content is now more equal.

3. With the exception of a half-dozen volume spikes during the show, I increased the volume of the WAV files by 2 dB since the volume level on the CDRs I received was just a bit low. (So basically all but 5-10 seconds of the show was raised 2 dB in Nero's wave editor.)

Here's the lineage on my end:
CDRs (from Crusty) > AudioCrusher > WAV > minor editing** > FLAC Frontend > FLAC

** The "minor editing" consists of the re-tracking and volume increase mentioned above. The WAV files were combined in Nero's wave editor and split back into individual tracks with CD Wave. The individual tracks were then volume-adjusted in Nero's wave editor.

If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run.

And won't you please consider thanking my new buddy Crusty for this great subdudes show? Thanks again, my man!

For any of you interested in MORE subdudes material, let me point out that there's some really nice streaming radio programs of the 'dudes in WFUV's archives, found here (just do a search on 'subdudes'):
