Here are Crusty's notes regarding the show/recording:
"Soundboard and excellent quality. The 1996 show is from the cassette master. The 1996 show is prime material...the band calls it "pre-breakup"--they really peaked in terms of performance--it was shortly after this friction led to the breakup."

"Recorded on Tascam 122 MKII w/ bias adjusted - a studio cassette rig. was packed to the gills, maybe 150 mostly arm to arm. The band was tight, with the early percussion set-up. I bet no one slept that night due to the excitement and recent boost the airwaves gave them. Recently the band commented on how good that tour was (pre-breakup)>"

Below are my (TheCommish's) notes:
1. I re-tracked the CDRs that Crusty gave me. His Disc #1 had 14 tracks and ran 71 minutes whereas his Disc #2 had 6 tracks and ran 35 minutes. On this re-tracked version, Disc #1 now has 10 tracks and runs 56 minutes whereas Disc #2 has 9 tracks and runs 50 minutes. Thus, the discs' content is now more equal. ("Angel To Be" was mysteriously split into 2 tracks on the CDR that I received from Crusty. From the CDR, I merged the intro to "Need Somebody"--which was a separate track--into the song itself, but decided to split out the encore break in this version.)

2. I decreased the volume of the announcer in track 101 by 5 dB since that particular track had a much higher volume than the rest of the recording.

3. Fixed/smoothed some small cuts in audience applause in a few tracks via Nero's wave editor.

4. Track 108 (It's So Hard) had a small gap of music missing at the 6:41 mark, so it's a little disjoint. I tried to fade in/out around this gap in music but it's still a little rough.

Here's the lineage on my end:
CDRs (from Crusty) > AudioCrusher > WAV > minor editing** > FLAC Frontend > FLAC

** The "minor editing" consists of the re-tracking and volume decrease mentioned above. The WAV files were combined in Nero's wave editor and split back into individual tracks with CD Wave. The volume was adjusted in Nero's wave editor.

If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run.

And won't you please thank Crusty for this stellar subdudes show?

For any of you interested in MORE subdudes material, let me point out that there's some really nice streaming radio programs of the 'dudes in WFUV's archives, found here (just do a search on 'subdudes'):
