Recording notes:

This was transferred from a second generation analog tape I received back in 1995 as part of the old Sugar mailing list tape tree.

Sugar played three shows along the Colorado I-25 corridor in December 1994. They played in front of a tiny crowd at Colorado College in C-Springs on the 4th, Denver the 5th, and Fort Collins on the 6th. I unfortunately missed all three shows due to a dead alternator and some peculiar issues with my small college. This show is the best of the three.

I inserted fades between the first and second encores to fit the show on one disc.

And remember, Bob has an extensive back catalog and a new disc coming out in April. Support the artist and BUY his music!

From the original J-card:

The Ogden Theatre is a really nice sounding room with a very nice PA system. The sound is good everywhere in the room, even up in the balcony, and the venue's production manager runs a very professional operation. The crowd was, for the most part, very enthusiastic and attentive.
Magnapop looked and sounded relieved to be free of the limitations of the previous night's venue; bassist Shannon Mulvaney was airborne for a good half of the set (at least!). Their performance was tight and polished, their energy contagious, and their audience enthusiastic and appreciative.
Sugar came on and proceeded to blow the audience clear out of the pit. The setlist was substantially revmaped from previous ones, with more emphasis on Copper Blue earlier in the set. Crowd surfing began three songs into the set and continued throughout most of the rest of the show. There were also a number of stage divers, at least one of whom hit the floor (and got up smiling).
Vocal harmonies again sounded great, despite the fact that both Bob and David are feeling the effects of a particularly nasty cold. "Changes," "Mind is an Island," "Tilted," "Man on the Moon," and "Armenia City in the Sky" sounded especially good.
The second encore took the crew by surprise, as they had switched on the exit lights on stage and started playing the exit music. Bob came on and thanked the Colorado State Supreme Court "for making this show possible" and apologized for "the things we had to do two years ago." Fittingly enough, Sugar followed the statement with "If I Can't Change Your Mind."
Highlights: a blistering "The Act We Act," a rip-roaring "In the Eyes of My Friends," Bob's one-upmanship of David's guitar work in a revisit of "The Beer Commercial," and a truly wrenching "Explode and Make Up." This last began with Bob singing, voice trembling with emotion almost to the breaking point, over very subdued accompaniment from Malcolm and David. Bob's guitar remained silent until the song's instrumental break, which led into an intensely emotional final chorus that the word "devastating" only barely begins to describe. After that, there was nothing more to be said.

Set time: 56 minutes; with encores, one hour, eighteen minutes.
