Notes:
Wilson G's Open Reel Master was played back on a Revox-A77 for initial transfer on January 23, 2006. The FM cassette master patch source is taken from Dan L's recent upload to DaD, which triggered this project. Thanks Dan!
*Dan's casette master provides 2 sequences; the 1st 18 seconds of track 1 and from 3:11 to the end of track 8 through what he had of track 9. Unfortunately, Traitor remains cut, as side A of the master reel ran out at 3:11 in Deus and a few minutes were lost before it continues. Regardless, all but 5 minutes or so is a significant upgrade to the master cassette. In fact, the patch transitions make obvious what a superior medium reel to reels were. Dan's master cassette is quite nice, but you'll here an obvious improvement when the source changes. The reel has more dynamic range, crisper high end, punchier low end, less noise and better stereo seperation. No noise reduction or signal processing of any kind was applied.
Enjoy!
