notes:
-another one from my cassette archives that apparently hasn't made the rounds much that's been digitalized and put on my hard drive recently.
Once again, I believe my cassette is 3rd generation from a tape Wes got a copy of the master from.
-sound on this one is mixed, not so much that the sound quality itself is bad, but there's other issues: wind noise occasionally; a cut after
track 4 that leads on to 1.5 minutes on the cassette of another tune that is speed warped so badly that I elected to just remove the whole
segment from the digital version - apparently, the taper knew there was a problem here too, as it abruptly ends and then comes in abruptly
on another improv with much lower levels and fiddling around with the mics. So there is 1 tune plus missing at least, is my conclusion. The levels
go back up for track 6 and this is the part of the show that matches the setlist I saw on the web. There's a tape flip for A Train, so it's on 2
tracks here. Great Billy Bang solo in A Train. More mic noise before track 9. Slumming is a tremendous version - the band is having great fun,
as is Sunny, which leads into another great swing piece with the band absolutely smokin by now! The very end is cut off as tape runs out. So due
to all these little issues, I have to give it a "B+"
-digitalized, re-mastered and seeded by matt23.
