notes:
Recorded from a live FM broadcast by the late and much missed MM. A copy of his now-lost master was made on a Maxell UD90 cassette using Dolby C not long afterwards. That copy was digitized in 2021.
The fact that this performance was broadcast on NPR would suggest that it was captured by various tapers and has circulated in some form, as has Ra's 1988 performance at the Chicago Jazz Festival. That said, if this performance was on Dime years ago, it no longer is and the source of any previous possible torrent was not this cassette.
As Wikipedia notes, Sun Ra's discographies is one of the largest discographies in music history. Nonetheless, this performance does not appear in any of these lists of official Sun Ra releases.
