Taper's Comments:

1 - HELP!! If you have any uncirculated SPIRIT shows, or better quality FM
broadcasts than what's been posted here before, please share them. If you
know anybody who has shows that fit this category that aren't on DIME, please
dub off their stuff and share it. I'm trying to write a book on SPIRIT and need
all the information I can get. I have a database of over 1500 gigs 1967-1996, and
want to find as much information as I can to add to it. If you have any memories
of where you saw SPIRIT, the more specific the better (venue, city, date, supporting
bands, etc.), I'd love to know that as well. Please leave that in the comments
section or PM me. Thank you!

2 - Show description & comments follow:

The earliest known AMBOY DUKES show I've ever seen. I got this in a trade with a
guy in the Washington, DC area in the late 70's. The tape has flaws, some gaps,
microphone connection problems, etc., but certainly listenable sound quality. I was
astounded to know that the great drummer Joe Vitale was actually an AMBOY DUKE
for a short period of time before going on to Joe Walsh, Dan Fogelberg (R.I.P.), and many
others! The band has lots of technical issues during the show, and complain a lot for
the house lights to be turned down. In this show they were in the middle slot between
headliners EDGAR WINTER'S WHITE TRASH, and the openers THE CHERRY PEOPLE.
Before anybody asks, I only have the AMBOY DUKES portion of the show. The band is
denied an encore, despite cries for one, since they ran over their allotted time! If anybody
can help with the exact date, band personnel, song titles, and other information, PLEASE
feel free to do so. If nothing else, this tape is an interesting listen for the rare unknown
songs and line up. Enjoy!
