This performance was recorded outdoors on Main Street in the historic gold rush gambling town of Deadwood, SD with a Sony MZ R70 MiniDisc Recorder and a set of core sound battery box microphones. Due to my difficulty finding a parking spot, the concert intro is absent, and the first recorded song is "Rainy Night in Georgia."

Although there have been 3 or 5 groups who have recently toured under the auspice of the Temptations banner, in my eyes the only two worth seeing are "The Temptations featuring Otis Williams" and "The Temptation Revue featuring Dennis Edwards." Otis Williams is the only surviving member of the original line-up therefore it is obvious why his current touring show is the one to see. Likewise, Dennis Edwards is considered to be the main reason that the Temptations post-David Ruffin line-up had a great deal of chart success in the 1970s. The set-list here which Dennis Edwards performed in Deadwood, SD is one of the most interesting to have surfaced. It is a nice mix of the number one hits along with some lesser known tunes.

From 1968 to 1977 Dennis Edwards was the lead singer of the Temptations. His 1967 solo single "Johnnie on the Spot" is highly sought after by Northern Soul collectors and it usually sells on eBay for $3000.000 to $6000.00 depending on its condition. Unfortunately, "Johnnie on the Spot" was not performed as part of this set.
