That torrrent was missing three tracks on CD 2 for some effing reason unkown to me. A few fellow Dimers made me aware of that.

I received this real nice sounding and up to now little circulated show from one of my best trading/swapping partners, Bob Elliott, also a TYA nut like myself.

When TYA reformed in 1988, their reputation and fans' desire to see the band were still or again, for that matter strong enough to enable the band to tour several mainland Europe countries highly sucessfully through prestigious mid-size venues, without even having a reformation album out. This sure helped get them a new record deal, if obviously only for one album.

Since a new album was regarded a prerequisite for touring the US though, they first recorded and released on August 22, 1989 their comeback album, aptly titled "About Time". The album would eventually make it to #120 on Billboard's 200 charts. After finishing their club tour of the US their first appearance there in 14 years, they returned to Europe to play again virtually the identical venues as in 1988. I saw the band on both occasions and the 1988 show was a capacity show, whereas the concert in 1989 was not sold-out but still well attended.

The band seemed to have quite some faith in their new album and did not less than FIVE (!)new numbers off it, and Alvin & Co were (sadly, I may add) never exactly known for packing their sets with new numbers, or keeping them for long.

This show has always been very special to me as they play the only known live version of "Outside My Window" (instead of their usually played "Saturday Night"), a lovely, highly melodic piece with Alvin playing sloooooow for a change, and my fave on their then new album.

Please do NOT sell this show or spread it in lossy formats - otherwise: trade, share, collect and enjoy! Always looking forward to your comments and possibly even further info...
