Special Notes:
The venue, which was a beautiful, high hall with columns and had a second floor on the back and the sides (just like a theatre), was far from sold out, which is a shame, as Ten Years After put on a good, solid show, as always...a case of bad promotion I guess. Ric Lee mentions this when he introduces the band after 'Hobbit' "Thank you for being here...shame you didn't tell your friends..." and then "How are you doin' Judenburg?!", which he asks twice and then says "Some of you are still asleep..." (looking at a few people sitting on a couch).
At the beginning of 'Hear me calling' Joe says "Vielen Dank!". Before introducing 'Angry Words' Leo says "Dankeschön" and later "Angry Words, ... not angry birds". Before 'I can't keep from crying sometimes' someone at the front asks Joe for a guitar pick, and the guy drops it (Chick comments "He dropped it..!" and then says, tongue-in-cheek "Ten Euros!" and after the song someone else asks him for another one, and Joe tells a short story about one special pick he's using.
The guy at the sounddesk was a complete knob - obviously he thought the concert is the soundcheck. He constantly kept changing settings (without improving the sound in the end and volume (i.e. turned up at qiet parts)...better listen to these records before the concert to get an idea how they SHOULD sound... So, the sound at the front where I was standing was not the best (vocals were hardly audible at some points, however it turned out better on the recording), but I was told the sound wasn't much better at the back either. During the first 5 songs Chick Churchill often looked at the back hoping that the guy would look at him and realize he needed some more monitoring (but he just kept looking at 'his' soundboard, turning knobs here and there...oh, well!
