On Tuesday, November 3, the lovers of good roots music is a wonderful night waiting.
This time the Q-BUS receives a nice looking three American singers who each have solo careers but for the
opportunity to work together under the term "Texas Sweet-Hot Trio. The ladies guarantee an evening
unadulterated blues, country and folk music from the top shelf. Fans of Townes Van Zandt, Emmylou Harris,
Willie Nelson and Nanci Griffith will definitely get their money's worth.
The "Sweet-hot Texas Trio" consists BettySoo, Charlie Faye and Abi Tapia. In recent years these women worked
separately to their careers. That gave each of them all the necessary recognition. BettySoo, daughter of Korean
Parents, already has 4 albums to her credit. Her most recent, Heat Water Skin Sin, was produced by none
less than GURF Morlix, the star producer who previously worked with greats like Lucinda Williams and Slaid Cleaves.
The term "little girls are great," BettySoo not accomplish. She is in fact strikingly small stature.
On the other hand, they one hell of a voice, that they rival many male rivals.
While she knows her audience in grand style to win her seductive beautiful songs that perfectly
radio programs that fit in folk, rock, blues and Americana music central.
Charlie Faye listened at a very young age to the country and blues recordings of her father. Even when her parents knew
that their daughter would go into the music. In recent years combined with Charlie's own career counseling work
inter alia for Dan Zanes. Her most recent album Wilson St. (named after the street in the south of Austin where she lives)
was produced by Mark Hallman, who previously worked with such Iain Matthews, Eliza Gilkyson, Shawn Colvin and even Oasis.
"Her album rocks, with an attitude that tips its hat to country, and a heart that sings the blues," wrote one American
music magazine Charlie album showered with critical praise. The nail on the head
Abi Tapia is finally a real gypsy music. Despite her relatively young age she lived until now in 9 different
American states. And that can be heard in her music. Which accommodates the heat of the south, the land of the
middle of America, and the attraction of the (folk) music from New England. Her songs are all wonderful
catchy tunes. "The beauty in the ruin," Abi's most recent album, there is a beautiful sample of. During the Q-Bus
concert will BettySoo, Charlie and Abi their own songs to sing into. It will pool their talents by
accompany each other on a variety of instruments and - not least - with beautiful harmony vocals.
