Having been given a ticket and never having heard this band before, i was really knocked out by their stage presence and the standard of their music. their mesmerising singer was all over the stage, venturing into the audience with a long mic lead ( which was passed over my head ) and supported by the crowd during his perambulations.
The sound was very good in the main, but really loud passages became rather confused in the mix. this isn't all that evident on the recording, what was a problem was the brightness of the drums and some guitar passages, I have tamed this to some extent but its still rather too "sizzly" for my liking
at times. I put this down to my closeness to the stacks, this was a good position as the audience in this part of the crowd were really quiet, but the downside was that the sound pressures were very high and without a preamp, i was at a disadvantage in achieving a totally clean result.
