Thomas Dolby - Snape Maltings, Suffolk, UK, 2011-11-04

First show of his UK tour after the release of his first new album in 20 years "A Map of the Floating City" - go buy it it's great.

Thomas Dolby has family connections with Snape Maltings with his great grandfather being the original builder of the maltings before they became a concert venue.
(see http://www.eadt.co.uk/entertainment/music/thomas_dolby_makes_a_big_noise_at_snape_1_720746 ).
He now lives on the suffolk coast in a village "20 houses and no pub" with a solar powered recording studio housed in a converted lifeboat in his back garden.

The only disapointment was the two blokes in front of me who chatted through the whole show. I found out afterwards that their wives / partners had told my kids off for rustling sweet wrappers...

BTW the kids really enjoyed the show.

Lineage:

Sony ECM-DS70P mic > Zoom H2 > 44.1/16bit > Wavepad > TLH Flac6

Wavepad used to boost the levels (first time I've used the Zoom so not used to setting the levels yet) and to reduce the booming bass.
