Back in the late 80's Jonathan Mover made a name for himself playing with Steve Howe & Steve Hackett in GTR, then with Joe Satriani. When he would visit his family in Peabody, MA, he would jam with a couple of hometown pals: Michael Bean, who had just recorded with guitar shredder Vinnie Moore on his "Time Odyssey" album, and Brian Alex Rahilly, who had a reputation as the hottest young guitarist North of Boston. As an instrumental trio, they would play everything from Average White Band to Jeff Beck, often doing their own arrangements and filling in all the gaps. They called themselves Three Little Pigs, due to each one of them "hogging as much sonic real estate as possible" -JM. They soon found themselves playing City Hall Pub, packing the place with lines going around the corner. Here's one of these shows that has them stretching out the tunes, taking lots of chances, and just playing like no one else was doing around there at the time.
