NO EQ'ing was used here, and none of those compressors, Sonic Maximizer
or other psychoacoustic processors - why ruin a true miseryman masterpiece ?

it sounds completely the way it was distinguishable that night in this venue.

Dad accentuated just all the applause and spoken passages inbetween the songs,
averagely +6,0 dB, reduced some of the instrumental plug ins and smoothed out
some harsh passages - just a touch - to help balance it overall a bit better,
for HIS ears...and as he's really old enough, i still trust him completely...

the only further addition to the RAW files was a short fade-in and, at the end,
a fade-out - in the audience applause, so truly NO MUSIC was harmed or lost.
finally there are two small & one big dropouts repaired - for your listening pleasure....

A true Texas Classic:

"With His Pistol In His Hand": A Border Ballad and Its Hero (Paperback)
- Amrico Paredes (Author)

"To see why Gregorio became a folk hero, one only has to remember that in
practice there was one law for Anglo-Texans, another for Texas Mexicans.
The chase, capture, and imprisonment of Cortez are high drama....
This is an extraordinary book."

Leticia ("Tish") Hinojosa (born December 6, 1955 San Antonio, Texas) is a folksinger recording
in both Spanish and English. Hinojosa was the youngest of 13 children. Hinojosa's parents were
Mexican immigrants. Hinojosa has charted twice on the Billboard country charts and has recorded
several albums, primarily for Rounder Records.

Since 1988, singer-songwriter Tish Hinojosa has been part of the vibrant Austin music scene. She
has drawn numerous critical accolades for her borderless approach to music, blending Mexican folk
and country music with a modern singer/songwriter sensibility and touches of pop. Born Leticia
Hinojosa in San Antonio in 1955, Hinojosa's parents were Mexican immigrants, and she soaked up
their music as well as the area's country sounds and the socially relevant rock & roll of the '60s.
She started playing guitar as a teenager, singing folk and pop songs in local clubs; she also sang
commercial jingles for a Spanish-language radio station, and recorded a few Latin pop songs for a
local label as well. In 1979, she moved to Taos, NM, and eventually landed a job singing backup
with Michael Martin Murphey. In 1983, she relocated to Nashville and tried to make it as a singer
and/or songwriter, but found that she didn't fit the mold of what record companies wanted, despite
recording a one-off single for Curb ("I'll Pull You Through"). In 1985, she moved back to Taos,
and two years later completed the self-released cassette Taos to Tennessee. In 1988, she moved
to Austin and hit the city's thriving roots music scene, where she knew her distinctiveness would
find a better reception.

Hinojosa quickly landed a deal with A&M, and in 1989 she issued her official debut album, Homeland,
which received highly complimentary reviews. Her next effort, Culture Swing, was released by the
respected roots label Rounder in 1992 to even greater acclaim; thanks to its free-thinking musical
cross-pollination, the National Association of Independent Record Distributors named it Folk Album
of the Year. Around the same time, Watermelon issued three archival recordings, including a live
album, a holiday album, and the first appearance of Taos to Tennessee on CD. Thanks to the attention
surrounding Culture Swing, Hinojosa landed a deal with Warner Bros., debuting for the label with
1994's Destiny's Gate. Although her time with Warner signaled a more polished approach (some
naysayers said sanitized), she also continued to record more specific projects for Rounder, starting
with 1995's Frontejas, an overview of Texas/Mexico border music that won massive respect in the
Latin music community. Dreaming from the Labyrinth followed on Warner in 1996, and that same year
she issued a bilingual children's album, Cada Nio (Every Child), on Rounder. Frustrated by Warner's
reluctance to put out more of her material, Hinojosa eventually secured her release from the label
and returned to Rounder. In the meantime, she continued her activism on behalf of Latino and women's
issues, even as her 20-year marriage broke apart. Finally, after a four-year absence from recording,
Hinojosa returned in 2000 with Sign of Truth. In 2001 Texas Music Group re-released the classic Taos
to Tennessee, and in 2003 the holiday album From Texas for a Christmas Night and a live best-of
record were both issued. In 2005 Hinojosa released Heart Wide Open, her first studio album in five
years, and the following year Retrospective, on Varese, came out.
Another new set, Our Little Planet, appeared in 2009.

Infos Tish Hinojosa
Tish Hinojosa's music crosses borders - between cultures, languages and musical genres. Moving with
equal grace through folk, country, pop and latino styles, her music reflects contemporary America's
multicultural richness. Combining a vision that embraces all of these musical styles, with her
characteristic warmth and a pure, soulful voice, this enchanting Texan singer-songwriter has gained
a loving and loyal audience throughout America, Europe and beyond.

As the youngest of thirteen children born to Mexican immigrant parents in San Antonio, TX, Tish grew
up listening to the traditional Mexican songs on her parents radio as well as to the pop and folk
stations of the 60's. Inspired by these diverse influences, she began playing and singing, first for
her family and then later in local clubs and coffee houses. In 1979, she left her hometown for the
mountains of New Mexico, where she discovered her love for pure and heartfelt country music. She
started performing with legendary country musicians Michael Martin Murphy and Bill and Bonnie Hearne,
which inspired her to begin writing her own songs, both in English and Spanish.

After a stint in Nashville, Tish - by now married and mother of two children - moved back to New Mexico
where she made her first independent release (Taos to Tennessee 1987), before finally re-locating to
Austin, TX, where she was eagerly welcomed by the city's thriving music scene. In 1988, she was signed
by A & M Records and finally achieved a national debut release. Homeland (1989), found her weaving all
the threads of her artistic ethos into an intriguing tapestry that immediately put her on the
international musical map.

Since then, a continuous stream of recordings and numerous American and European tours have brought
Tish's music to the attention of an ever-growing audience. To date, she has released 15 albums, all
of which beautifully display her ability to distill her diverse musical influences and colourful life
experiences into a sound which is distinctively her own. Her releases explore a wide variety of styles:
from the perfect balance of country, folk and latino elements on the award-winning Culture Swing (1992)
or the collection of Mexican love ballads and border songs on all-Spanish Frontejas (1995), to the
delicate mysticism of Dreaming From The Labyrinth (1996) or the joyful optimism on her bilingual
children's record Cada Nio/Every Child (1996). Sign Of Truth, released in 2000, added yet another
facet to Tish's sound. Influenced by the divorce from her long-time partner and other transitions
occurring in her life, the songs on this album show her revealing a more personal, intimate, yet
independent side.

Tish has contributed her talent to numerous issues such as bilingual education, immigration and farm
workers' rights. She has also performed by invitation at the White House for Bill and Hillary Clinton.
She has gained the respect and admiration of many well-established musicians, not only her contemporaries,
but also some of those who were important early influences, including Linda Ronstadt, who later recorded
her own version of Tish's song "Donde voy". Amongst other artists that Tish has recorded and worked with
are Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakam, Nanci Griffith, Pete Seeger, Flaco Jimenez and Los Lobos.

Tish's latest CD, Our Little Planet, will be released on CRS Records in October 2008. Inspired by her rediscovered love for country music, the 12 self-penned songs on this collection feature a deeply
Americana mix of traditional bluegrass and Tish's trademark sound of contemporary folk and tex-mex.
The album is produced by Tish and her long-time accompanist, Marvin Dykhuis, who also co-wrote the
title song, as well as playing most of the instruments. It also features appearances by celebrated
pedal-steel player, Greg Leisz, duets with Texas country legends Rosie Flores and Dale Watson, as
well as with rising star, Carrie Rodriguez, all of which combine to add delightful new textures to
Our Little Planet's stripped-down country sound.

Presently, Tish is dividing her time between Austin, Texas and Hamburg, Germany, where she is remarried
and happily residing. A biographical DVD, spanning the 30 years of her musical career, is in the making.
She is also pursuing new forms of expression outside the realms of music, with the writing of a book
about her family and her life.
