It's certainly not too polished but it captures most of the essential magic conjured by this amazing band. - I was closest to the drummer and the recording reflects that. You can certainly make-out Tisziji's guitar throughout but when the chaos really starts to thicken, he gets a little buried in the mix. Still - any amount of live Tisziji is better than none at all. - Occasionally you can hear the sound of me hitting the "recording level" button on the side of the device...it has a kind of clicking sound. It's mostly prevalent when Tisziji starts to speak and I tried to quickly raise the levels to catch what he was saying. Zoom makes a corded remote for the H4n that I will soon invest in, making this problem a thing of the past. Until then, I apologize for the annoyance. Performance Notes: - What can be said...this line-up of musicians really speaks for itself. Getting to see Tisziji play live is almost like seeing Haley's Comet. And his performance lit up my mind just as that comet does the sky every 70 years or so. Making music quickly became secondary to the ultimate goal of tapping into the unknown and BOLDLY transporting musician and audience alike into new and uncharted musical territory. Seriously - at times, Tisziji's fret board pyrotechnics made John McLaughlin sound like Mark Knopfler. - If you have never seen a show at The Stone, I'd urge you to make a point to in the near future. Their concert schedule reflects the eclecticness of the venue itself - a tiny...and I mean tiny...extremely intimate venue that seems more of a place of musical meditation and contemplation than it is an East Village concert venue. They cater to the serious music fan, forgoing the standard merch table, drinks and snacks, and steady influx of scene -ster douchebags that you’d typically find at a show for a more bare bones approach and honest atmosphere. It's artistic director, the amazing John Zorn, deserves commendation and hero status for keeping this place going - Kudos! Please explore the amazing music of the one and only Tisziji Munoz and support his work if you can! http://www.anamimusic.com/dnn/ http://www.myspace.com/tiszijimunoz ; flac fingerprint file generated by Trader's Little Helper ; generated on November 12, 2009, at 19:12:58 TiszijiMunoz2009-11-07t01.flac:71a65a62a5998a8ba3be2b9753e75245 TiszijiMunoz2009-11-07t02.flac:95109cd11a492950a6c914df973d40c5 TiszijiMunoz2009-11-07t03.flac:4090b47cd641430cae75207eaf90ecad TiszijiMunoz2009-11-07t04.flac:d84e1db053b1472278660fd016d5b2a9
