To Rococo Rot

the trio of Stefan Schneider (Ex Kreidler) and brothers Robert and Ronald Lippok, arrived just over a decade ago at the point where digital precision and instrumental abstraction were harnessed into new directions in contemporary music, detached and accessible. Their early albums, Veiculo and The Amateur View, spoke in the future imperfect tense, highly complex but concentrated sound happenings. And with their new album Speculation they created a well balanced mix of Krautrock and Minimal Music in a new form.
For SWR's Art's Birthday they will work with Yoko Ono's "Grapefruit" book. Playing with her Event Scores – e.g.:

Go on transforming a square canvas
in your head until it becomes a
circle. Pick out any shape in the
process and pin up or place on the
canvas an object, a smell, a sound
or a color that came to your mind
in association with the shape.

* On the 17th January, 2011 the ' Takes of Birthday' is celebrated in the memory of the Fluxus artist Robert Filliou.
Maintained in 1963 that precisely before a million years the art has been born to be exact,
on the 17th January, to his own birthday. To the birth of the art appointed Filliou a fictive, accidental event: ' When somebody dropped a dry sponge in a vessel fully water ', and noted in addition self-ironic: ' today modest beginnings, but looks at us. ' Since Fillious death in 1987 artists continue worldwide the 'Birthday of Art': with 'mailart', fax and ' slow scan tv events'.

Institut fuer Feinmotorik (IFF)

is Mark Bruederle, Daniel van den Eijkel, Marc Matter and Florian Meyer.
IFF is an artists group working in different media. Although the main activity for which the group is known is acoustic-art / music.
IFF is located in Bad Säckingen (black forrest), Berlin, Cologne and Karlsruhe (all Germany). The group was founded 1997 for a club-event in Basel (Switzerland) at brisant kiosk / club.
IFF produces different output (photography, video, music, drawing, computerprogramming, printed matter etc.), organizes artistic-/cultural events, does lectures and workshops and publishes artistic goods such as music records, books etc.
IFF got some reputation for their acoustic work with a reductionist set-up: 8 turntables, 4 DJ mixers + end-mixer, which is served by the groups members. Anything (except records) which somehow fits between turntables and pick-up cartridges (household rubberbands, paper-stickers, rubbergums, handicraft-tools + various junk and tinker-trivias) may be played.
Lately, IFF contributed to Art Exhibitions, took part in a music-theatre, did lectures on topics such as the Dreammachine, contributed to the German Avantgarde-Music Revue Positionen and produced an abstract radioplay for RADIO ARTHUR, Basel.
IFF performed over 80 events since 1997 - most of them Sound-Performances & Concerts; they played at international media-art festivals and did touring in Europe and South America. IFF also released several Vinyl records on Labels like Fusetron (USA), Staubgold (BRD), Synchron (CH), Eventuell (BRD); they published a book entitled "Feinmotorik Kompendium" (Maas Media Verlag, Berlin) in 2005.
