"Hometown!" TR-i announces during the intro, still living in the bay area. The No World Order tour in San Francisco, in the middle of the Fairmont Ballroom of the fanciful Fairmont Hotel on top of Nob Hill, we got the fantastic, innovative interactive stage. The 'Todd Pod', as fans coined it: A central portable interactive stage that makes one think of a spacecraft or futuristic time machine. Todd billed himself as TR-i (standing for 'Todd Rundgren interactive') This was a total blast! Like the wildest new years eve event, just 15 days after. You can hear balloons popping, TR-i tossing condoms to the audience, inviting people on stage during "green light", with dancers during "yellow light" one was Michele (who soon after became Michele Rundgren) It was a night full of technological bells and whistles. TR-i and us having big fun!

A rarely circulating recording that was digitized by a TRader from cassette long ago at my request. Well transferred! The cd mastering and taper info long lost. Some distortion exists and some audience noise, only disruptive in a few moments (funny really, a complainer blurts near the mic in a brief point during 'Secret Society')
Some clarity boosted using Audacity, and some cleaning up of split tracking hiccups helped.
This sounds great, not much mic jostling, and it must have been difficult to get a consistent recording, since there was much motion as we rotated around the 'Todd Pod'. So kudos to the taper!

This is surprisingly not on Warren's expansive TR Connection list of Todd recordings. Sadly, I just found out he passed away from cancer.
So as one recording that missed his resourceful list, I wish to dedicate this post to the memory of Todd collector/enthusiast extraordinaire, Warren H.
