Tom Paxton with Eric Weissberg
April 20 2007
Ethical Culture Auditorium
NYC

Opening for Richard Shindell

This show was supposed to happen in November 2006 but someone got sick so it was postphoned until 4/20/2007. I've been having some trouble with my Sonic Studio mikes, so I used an old Sony something that I had lying around. The machine is a Sony D7 DAT.

The only editing was heavy stomping on the audience between the tracks. Being a folk concert, the audience tends to be much louder than the performance. So, I dropped the volume about 10db during applause. It clipped nicely.

Eric Weissberg, playing with Tom, is probably best known for doing half the banjo duet in the movie Deliverence. He and Tom play it here. The show is probably worth having just for that, but as always, Tom is wonderful. I would have perferred more of his greatest hits, but the newer songs are good also.
