Welcome once again to another installment featuring AK & Companys master DAT recording of the late Tom Petty.

When Tom Petty passed away, a lot of users (not only on DIME but in all the torrent sites dedicated to ROIOs) started posting recordings of his concerts. Some uncirculated, others not so much.

JEMS has always been proud of its distinction regarding the quality of its recordings, so much so that some people even mentions the "JEMS quality. Well, with this we're expecting to raise the bar even more.

This Digital Master came to JEMS from their friend AK, and we're expecting this to be the definitive upgrade to this concert.

In the past, this circulated from two sources: a low generation (and incomplete) recording which is already on tracker, here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=549261 and a pre-webcast source, which despite its possible quality, lacked of a verified lineage and is not on the tracker. The show the day prior to this concert can also be found here sourced from a soundboard + audience matrix: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=477265

For the first time, this full soundboard set is now available with known and verified lineage from the master and the best quality possible. Samples provided.

And if you thought that was good enough, let me tell you that you are wrong.

This is not only a master soundboard, but also one of the best Tom Petty recordings Ive heard, both in terms of performance and quality, because this is not just him performing his classic tunes, but also some excellent covers of artists like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the Rolling Stones.

I'd say without fear that this can be ranked (not in just my opinion, Im sure some of the Petty collectors out there will agree with me) as one of his best performances.

Furthermore, I'm sure you'll be impressed by the quality of this recording to the point of thinking: "How in the bloody hell this hasn't seen an official release?" and I tend to agree with you.

Thanks to AK for providing the source material and fixing some issues that were present in the recording. If youre a Petty fan (and even if you aren't!) this is a must -ave recording in every sense of the expression.

Enjoy this recording, feel free to spread, share but never sell, and above all, never forget to run away, find you a lover, go away somewhere all bright and new.
