Notes:

* Featuring Hayley Jane (The Hayley Jane Band) on Stevie's vocal.

These guys hail from Gainsville, FL (which ironically is where the man they
are paying tribute to is from!), so I thought that was kinda cool. There are
quite a few Petty tributes that tour nationally and I always welcome seeing
different ones. This was my first time seeing The Broken Hearts and I was
very impressed. Their musicianship is top notch and their attention to detail
does not go unnoticed. I really loved seeing them start with "Love Is A Long
Road", one I never got to see Petty play live. Following it up with "Jammin'
Me", another Tom sparingly played was pretty awesome. Another highlight was
the instrumental "Goldfinger", which took me by complete surprise. What the
hell are the odds seeing a Petty tribute perform THAT one? The hits went over
very well, obviously, and you can hear the crowd really getting into it. Hayley
Jane was playing earlier on the other side of Woodlands and was gracious enough
to join for "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" and absolutely killed it. You never
would have known that was the first time they performed the song together. Huge
thanks to Chris 'Blu' McDonald (drums) for taping permission & the brief hang
after the show. His arms were ready to fall off after rivaling Dave Grohl's
1994 SNL performance of "Honey Bee" to close. Amazing! I did not get to meet
the others, but they all seemed like awesome dudes. These guys tour quite a
bit, so please check their website, go see them and support!
