It seems that a bit of a Lifetime flood started last week when I seeded a show from the original band at the Village Gate. That's great, because the various Lifetimes and New Lifetimes are sometimes overlooked when thinking of the Fusion superpowers of the 70's.
This recording seems like the first circulating show of the New Lifetime, other than the studio things that Tony first did with Holdsworth and Tequila. Can't exactly vouch for Chicago, and no idea of the date, other than the fact that the band is playing Urchins from the Ego album that came out in 1971 or 72. Don't think that tune stayed in the repertoire as they started to tour Believe It.
This is a decent listen given the time when it was recorded. Can't tell whether it was a good audience, or a bad broadcast.Any info will be appreciated. Not sure if this New Lifetime gig has been here on DIME, but it probably has been. Thanks to the trader who made it available to me, and to whoever taped it all those years ago.
Please purchase the commercial releases from these artists, and support those who are still gigging by paying to see them live.
