This show was over 2 hours long.
Having just obtained this Sony D3 Master, i honestly didn't know much about Toy Caldwell.
Not even enough to know that he was from the Marshall Tucker Band.
As i was transferring it last night and hearing it play in the background,
i was thinking, wow, the crowd is really excited to see this guy and he's playing so
professionally and doing great covers of so many classic songs.
I'm thinking he's just a local guitar player from New England or something and he's made a name
for himself. His playing was incredible and i thought I better research this guy and find out
what he's all about and see if he's still performing.
That's when i learned who Toy was. I was startled to learn that he was gone. WHAT?!?!
That threw me back a bit. Because I've seen Marshall Tucker Band in the late 90's,
but didn't really know much about there past, (or members).
Also learning that the orignal bass player was Toy's brother.
Tommy Caldwell passed away on April 28th 1980. from injuries he received in a jeep accident.
He was 30 years old. The band tried to go on without him but couldn't cope with the void.
By 1984 Toy Caldwell and two other band members called it quits.
Once i learned about this, I immeadiately thought this should be shared with the DIME community.
Big praise goes out to Ken G. for taping and allowing me to do the transfer and torrent work.
His collection is amazing and i will continue sharing his treasure trove of live music.
The sound quality is amazing on this and this should get a lot of attention to any MTB fans.
Check out the samples and grab this up.
I had a difficult time tracking this show. Knowing when one song stopped and the next one started.
My tracking is a little off and probably needs to be tighten up.
no set list at this time, sorry
Please help me out with song titles
This does have a 12 minute version of Night Life (track 17)
Track 20 fades out. The tape side ends and didn't get flipped. So the end is cut short.
