There´s a story behind this gig, or rather the setlist. I caught on the TGS-train in june 2001. Having just come home from concerts with other artists in Stockholm and Gothenburg I decided to go to Malmo and check TGS out, they played at a festival and I had nothing better to do. Their 50-minute-set that day (taped!) changed my way of listening to music forever. I loved every second of it, as did a friend of mine, and we got to see them soon again in july. I taped that gig too and by now a friend who´s not only a big fan but also a close personal friend of the band really liked my recordings.
When the band came back to our part of the country in january 2002 he had an idea. I taped the first show, again in Malmo, and that show has the two very best improvised pieces I have ever heard with the band. The sound is incredibly good on that one. The setlist was almost the same as the other two gigs I had seen though, so when the band turned up in Helsingborg for a gig at a very small place, the bar-section of the "real" venue The Tivoli, he asked the band to do some stuff they hadn´t done for a while. They agreed, since they also liked my recordings. Therefore this recording contains a rare rendition of "Kaffe & tårta" (Coffee and cake) aswell as a GREAT version of "Svärmors brudpolska", neither of which were usually played at this time. Also, the gig ends with a very improvised version of the Philemon Arthur & The Dung-classic "In kommer Gösta".
I was told
the band liked this recording too. Unfortunately this fourth time would be my last time ever seeing the band live, they are still around but since foundingmembers Bo-Anders and Torbjörn left the band and passed away respectively I have no interest in seeing them again. I prefer my memory to begin and end with Torbjörns mesmerizing bassplaying.
I have redone this a bit, new trackmarks were made and the bottom end was beefed up. This recording is one of my personal favourites out of all 300+ I have done and I am immensely proud of it. I hope you will like it too.
Malmö from the day before will be uploaded soon. A different show, bigger venue, more improvs and different setlist.
It´s all love. Dedicated to Torbjörn.

* Renamed "En enfaldig mans klagan" on the album "Ajn schwajn draj" released later the same year. Until then the song has always been called "Varför är gräset.." so I´ll stick with it here and one the other of my recordings.
Enjoy and share the wealth. You never know when you will be gone.
