In 1986, Michael Gaiman Had The Chance To Put On Some Shows Featuring
A Band Calling Themselves The Sounds Of S.F. With John Cipollina,Greg Douglass,
Alex Ligertwood,Dave Margen And Joey Covington.Also On The Bill Would Be A
Post Bob Weir Era Kingfish.I Attended The Second Of A Two Night Stand At
York's Lone Star Cafe.After The Early Show, I Approached Michael And Offered
My Services To Kingfish Since They Were Playing With A Borrowed Bass Player;
Dave Margen, And No Drummer.I Ended Up Playing About Half Of The Set And It
Was Alot Of Fun.Later On, As I Was Getting Ready To Leave, About 2/3 Of The Way
Through The Sounds Of S.F. Late Set, Covington Decided In The Middle Of A
Song That He Was Done For The Night Leaving The Band To Finish The Song
And The Set.They Seemed To Be At A Loss So I Went To The Stage To See
If I Could Help.The Welcomed Me Up And I Helped Them Conclude The Show.
It Was Incredible To Be Able To Be On That Small Stage With Some Of My
Heroes.I'd Known John For Several Years Through Various Other Projects
And People But Had Never Gotten To Play With Him.
