Source:
FM broadcast (95.5 KSAN-FM, San Francisco) - lineage unknown.
CDR received via trade, ripped to .wav with EAC in secure mode,
converted to .flac with FlacFrontend (level 8, verify, align sector boundaries).

Notes:
This is one of two KSAN-FM appearances by The Tubes in 1974.
The more familiar one is the November performance, which was
the source of the 'Rock & Roll Hospital' bootleg LP. The sound on
this isn't as pristine as versions of the November set that now circulate,
but its still quite listenable to my ears. If a better sounding copy exists,
I've yet to find it.

* This disc came to me labelled 2 July 1974. A quick listen to the outro
reveals the announcer plugging upcoming shows on June 7th, 8th and 22nd.
During the intro, the dj mentions they've previously played places like the
Keystone and Winterland. According to Par Can's Tubes Time Line, the
band played the Keystone on May 31st and June 1st, and Winterland,
opening for Mahavishnu Orchestra, on May 26th. I would bet that this
broadcast took place between the 1st and 7th of June. And, just perhaps,
2 June, instead of 2 July.

Note to the mods:
None of the material from this radio broadcast was used on the 'Dawn
of the Tubes' archival release that was issued commercially in 2000.
The performances on the commercial release were taken from a KPFK
broadcast from Wally Heider Studio on 7 March 1974 (as well as the
live show from 22 June 1974, and a demo session at Wally Heider's
in December of 1973).
