When I attended this concert (vanilla Fudge / Mountain), I went with the sole purpose of finally getting a chance to see Leslie West live. After all, VF was a a little before my time in therir prime. But, it was the Vanilla Fudge set that was the highlight of the show. I guess I was a little naive at the time of the show - not realizing who was in the original band - Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice (of Beck, Bogert, Appice and Cactus fame). And I actually knew most of the songs they played that night. When they went into Shotgun - wow - I was a convert for life!!

A few comments about the recording. Another show from Denver's Paramount echo chamber. I did not have the best seats for this show (about half way back on the right side), the mix isn't great and the drums get buried in the music, but all in all it's very listenable and gives you VF's last hurrah ( I understand that Tim has retired from public playing for good). Also, my mic jack came unplugged for about 90 seconds during Aint That Peculiar.

Samples included - enjoy !!
