Stereo soundboard with microphones - live matrix "tape mix" cassette master - excellent sound quality. The lead guitar is a bit low on the first song but after that the mix sounds great. Highly recommended!

Lineage: Monitor soundboard feed + 2 Crown PZM microphones + 2 Nakamichi cm300 microphones and one other ambient microphone mounted on balcony railing > live matrix "tape mix" > Sony TC-WR950 quick auto-reverse deck > Dolby C encoded TDK MA90 cassette master. It was so loud over the stage that it was hard to get an optimal live mix, but notes were kept for each band in case they later returned. Some of the mixes sounded more ambient than others and this one really sounds more like a straight soundboard feed but does have ambience too. The 1987-10-23 and 1989-01-28 shows were mixed to be even more of a straight soundboard sound, which is why I noted them as that but after listening to all three Catalyst Ventures shows again I have to assume the same basic lineage for all three and so I have corrected the titles, descriptions and attached info files for the other two.
