i finally got a hold of this 1 st gen copy
Story goes:
Someday late may 1990 "Flo" Florian Im... who booked bands @ Juze Waldkirch
showed up at my place telling me i missed the best show he ever booked. He was very proud to have cassette recording to prove it. He used 2 vocals mike from his band (yes, he had a band too covering neil young) and taped them to the ventilation shaft. ( mmmh well it was turned off but the pipes started to vibrate a bit ) Anyhow the recording was good enough to tell me i really missed a band i had never heard before and i liked it.
Flo not having 2 tapedecks to run me a copy left the master cassette with me.

I made 2 copies of it and gave one to my friend VR
Over the years i forgot about this 2nd copy
At some point in the early 2000 equipped with my CD-r burner i started transfering my old analog masters
And guess what: no trace of the walkabouts cassette
I discovered a version in the vaults of "hard too handle" (P.W.) conviently burned to cd
and that became my go to version but i never put it out still hoping my cassette would pop up some day
It was not to be...But in august 2025 i visit my old friend VR who after 30 years was moving out of the house
My intention was to save his old master cassettes from going to the dump
I had previously transfered some of his masters in 2013 but i was digging deeper this time
and YES there it was the 1 st gen copy with all my notes on the sticker inlay

i dunno if Flo still has the master

i later became quite friendly with chris and carla and when i asked them about this gig in 2012 they did vividly remember walking up to the ruin of the old castle and getting served real german food at "Flo's"
end of story
