Notes:

I was really worried about this recording because near the end of the set
I realized that the left microphone had become dislodged from the plastic
lawn chair webbing that I use as a mic stand and was pointing almost
straight down at the ground, and I have no idea how long it was that way.
I though for sure I'd be listening to the raw recording and say "right
there's where the mic fell down", and that I'd have to mix the audio into
mono after that spot or something. But it honestly doesn't seem to have
had much effect on the recording - the sound quality remains pretty
consistently decent throughout.

There were a lot of good bands at this year's ProgDay, but if I had to
pick a favorite, it was probably these guys. Quirky instrumental music
with a violin and a horn section, samples from old sci-fi movies and a
big sense of humor? They had me hooked even before they played a cover
of a fairly obscure Frank Zappa song.

It's hard to tell from this recording, but a couple minutes into Shep's
Anxiety the bassist was trading riffs with first one drummer and then the
other in rapid succession. It was pretty cool to watch.

The ProgDay web site also listed a Pat Higgins on saxophones as part of
the band, but there was no sax player at this show.

About ProgDay:

ProgDay is an outdoor festival of progressive rock that has been held annually
since 1995. In 1996 it was expanded from one day to two and has been featuring
anywhere from eight to eleven progressive rock bands each year since, often with
related events nearby on Friday or Saturday nights. The event has been forced
indoors due to weather twice (1999 and 2002), was held online in 2020 due to
Covid, and was sadly cancelled in 2021 (also due to Covid), but every year apart
from those has seen some fantastic progressive rock bands take the stage at
beautiful Storybook Farm.

It's definitely worth the trip if you're a prog fan and don't mind a little heat,
humidity and sun. I first went in 1997 and had such a great time that I've been
back every year since. There's really nothing else like it - most of the bands
mix and mingle with the fans, you can sit or stand literally stage-side for any
band you're particularly interested in, the atmosphere is super relaxed, the
people are friendly and the hotel pool parties have become the stuff of legend.

If you'd like to make a donation via PayPal to help keep the festival afloat (and
