Jaco's 1st stop in Boston with Weather Report
a couple of weeks after he joined the band.
was hoping more of this fine set would turn up before sharing,
but this is all that has been found after years of looking.
hopefully it will help unearth the rest of it,
although not even half of this show,
the music and recording is enjoyable (aud)
this sounds like one full tape side, probably of a 60 minute cassette.
after listening to about 80 minutes of a blistering Shakti set before this,
Weather Report sounded like lounge music by comparision,
but only to that, and not much else.
this was also a very good concert, as most of theirs were.
but how can they have Weather Report opening (for anyone?)
that didn't happen in Jaco times.
they had to be reminded on this tour, why Miles Davis did not like headlining shows.
such as 1982 Boston show with Pat Metheny Group.
(he found openers a distraction to his own performance and concentration/focus on the music,
whether great or awful or anything in between)
