comments:
There's a fair amount of crowd and talking in this recording, and a couple of flip cuts,
also alot of fine music. Not sure how much is missing during the flips, but this was recorded
by a musician fan of Weather Report who obviously made an effort to get a good recording in
an outdoor festival concert, with nice result. This is the only 1982 WR show I've ever heard,
last time I saw them was in 1980, so I don't know how other 82 shows compare to this one, I
do think this will make a welcome addition to what else may be out there, both for the music
and the sound. Not bad at all for an outdoor Sony 310 recording. The music comes through clearly.
The master was either a TDK or Maxell (I think high bias, my copy is Maxell XLII). Anyone who
can contribute the setlist titles to this show would be appreciated. there are 8 tracks in this
show. I recommend for burning to disc, start disc 2 with track 5. I don't know if the taper is
an uploader or not. I do know this is a 1st time seed from my 1st gen. tape. There were some
other bands at the 82 Hampshire Jazz Festival, but I don't have any info. or recordings of them.
I'm also unaware of which town this took place is, maybe Amherst or Northampton, if not, some
place very near there.
do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.
