The 11th show of the Winter '79 tour moves up the east coast to another now demolished arena, The New Haven veterans Memorial Coliseum. Our touring party was joined here by our friend Dr. Billy from the bay area, giving us a new burst of energy. I remember we sampled the local pizza before the show, which was great.
Kenney Jones was great this night, especially during 'My Generation', which featured Pete Townshend's punk rock count in. Songs were stretching out a bit here. Longer versions of 'Music Must Change', 'Drowned'and '5:15' had Dr. Billy exclaiming that 'Pete is on fire'!
The show ended with a fairly long version of 'How Can You Do It Alone', which was in contrast to the fast version in Washington D.C. at the previous show.
Thanks again to Andy for putting these shows up for us.
