Willem Breuker Kollektief
Joe's Pub, New York, NY
November 12, 2007 *retracked RESEED*

original info by punkjazz:

(...) Please Note: Mr. Breuker will not be performing as he is
unable to travel due to health concerns.
Not only that, but founding member Boy Raay(m)akers was also missing.....Though
they put on a good show nonetheless.....Here's hoping that Willem and Boy make
it back to the states soon.

The recording is generally pretty darn good, but there is a bit of mic knocking
in places, I have padded it down as much as possible

Although most of this is played as a medley, I broke it into 8 tracks at
appropriate places

This is yet another reseed of a WBK concert for which I did some retracking (so this upload has more than 8 individual tracks) and title-name dropping. As was pointed out by punkjazz, Willem Breuker was absent. He already was seriously ill during most of 2007 and 2008 and also skipped the Spring 2007 theatre tour with Loes Luca (Breuker wrote some of the compositions for it though), a concert of it was posted by me here before. During the period of his absence, Frans Vermeerssen (sometimes Rutger van Otterloo, occasionally Gijs Levelt) replaced Breuker with Bernard Hunnekink in the role of interim 'leader' of the Kollektief, so it was he who introduced the Members of the Kollektief at the end of the concert.
Punkjazz also mentioned that Boy Raaymakers was not there: In September 2007, Boy Raaymakers left the Willem Breuker Kollektief. He was not a member since the very first minute (he was present as a spectator at the first two concerts of the Kollektief in Groningen and Moers on June 1 & 2, 1974, but soon after that, he was asked by Breuker to join the group which he did in May 1975, replacing Herman de Wit. In 2007, Boy's part was taken over by George Pancraz.
This time I did remove some more small microphone bumps and crackles which occurance is mentioned by punkjazz in his initial info (see above). Since these mostly happened during the audience cheers, none of the more interesting bits are missing.

During the Fall 2007 USA Tour, the Kollektief also performed the newly written (by Willem Breuker) music for the silent film "Faust" by F.W. Murnau. It is possible that some of the more mellow sounding tracks which don't have a title yet are from that program.
